Pass Summary:
Successful launch and initial acquisition of the ACE satellite.  Activities
are going well and on-schedule.  Ground and S/C systems are performing well.
Anomalies:

1. TPOCC software froze just prior to MAG boom deployment -- deployment was
delayed and software was recycled successfully

2. After successfully validating the D46 CPA and handing off the carrier
from D16 to D46 -- A no_op command was sent but not verified by the
spacecraft -- After investigation D46 swapped CPAs and commanding was
succesfull.  DR#A01662
3.  Dropped telemetry due to problems with the Fanout.  Alerted the IP
NOCC.  Once fanout was rebooted, restarted ISIS and continued with
operations.  Station continued to received TM during entire time.
4.  TPOCC system froze.  Error message: Packet extractor out ot telemetry
buffers.  Restarted system.  Problem re-occurred approximately 15 minutes
later.  Continued R/T operations on MAR string, while TSM's performed a
re-boot of the system

Actvities:
1. Launched on schedule at 1439 -- Delta performance nominal
2. Ranging initiated 1625
3. Sun Sensor activated 1625 -- initial spin rate 3.75 rpm, Sun Angle 12.6
degrees, nutation .75 degrees
4. SSRA and SSRB activated 1625 -- SSRB placed in record mode 16:28
5. MAG booms deployed 1702 -- good data received but FDF unable to use for
attitude solution
6. Star Scanner activated 1712 -- good data received
7. Spin rate with booms deployed 3.40 rpm
8. Spacecraft operational heaters activated 1723
9. Initial housekeeping performed on inactive C&DH 18:17
10. Battery placed in trickle charge 1930

Pass Summary:
Performed Mid-course correction maneuver.  A small MCC (approximately 6
minutes) was required.  Established the mission nominal RF configuration.
Performed the first solid state recorder dump

Anomalies:
1.  Transmitter failure at DSN (DSS-46).  STA reset transmitter and
reswept.  Loss of ranging data for approximately 4 minutes.
2.  TM drop-out at the station (DSS-24).  Cause unknown.  Station
reacquired downlink and uplink and re-initiated ranging.

Activities:
1. Continued instruments activation sequences:  Successfully completed MAG
unfreeze snapshot memory activities @ 1435
2. Executed Mid Course Correction  (MCC) maneuver.  MCC start time
14:12:07.  MCC stop time 14:18:20.  FDF preliminary reports indicate that
the maneuver was approximately 4% cold.
3. Transitioned the Inactive C&DH (C&DH B) to the -Z (bottom deck -
broadbeam antenna).  Activity performed successfull7 at 20:17
4. Transitioned the Active C&DH (C&DH A) to the High Gain antenna.
Activity completed successfully at 2027Z.
 5. The S/C RF system is now in its nominal mission configuration.  The
Active C&DH (C&DH A ) is configured to the HGA, and the Inactive C&DH (C&DH
B) is configured to the -Z broadbeam.
6.  Started recording on SSR A at 2033
7.  Started playback of SSR B.  First playback of the mission at 2100Z.
8.  Changed downlink to medium rate  0051
9.  Performed end of day activities.  Uploaded safing sequences to S/C and
verified all S/C systems performing nominally

Pass Summary:
Day 3 of operations went well.  Two of the nine science instruments were
successfully activated.  This brings to 3 the total number of instruments
Powered ON by completion of Day 3.

Anomalies:
1. During unattended pass with station 42, station locked on a side lobe.
This caused all ranging and Doppler to be invalid. Anomaly number G-7 in
anomaly binder.

2. Station 24 had to reboot its RCC at the station, resulting in a late AOS
time. AOS was initially scheduled for 1420. Anomaly number G-8 in anomaly
binder (DR# G02678).

3. While running proc C_DUMP_COMPARE_ACT, received invalid compare report.
Anomaly number G-8.

4. While running proc C_DUMP_COMPARE_ACT, all autonomy bins loaded during
the day's activities were not updated in the GRI. Anomaly number G-10.

Activities:
1. Set SSR B to and SSR A to dump at 1511.
2. Loaded bins for ULEIS safing and thruster abort at 1514
3. CRIS instrument activation sequence started at 1533, completed at 1742.
4. SIS covers opened at 1814
5. SWIMS operational heater enabled at 1845
6. SSR A dump complete and checked at 1845
7. Attitude maneuver performed to reorient S/C to edge of HGA constraint.
Start time 19:59:59 Stop time: 20:34:46 - Underburn, attitude less than
expected by ~1 degree.
8. SIS instrument activation sequence started at 21:15, ended at 22:39.

Anomalies:
1. Loss of telemetry from JPL due to loss of ISIS connectivity.  Unable to
command S/C for 27 minutes.  IPNOCC rebooted Protoserver and FOT restarted
ISIS.  Nominal operations resumed.  Problem occurred two more times.

2.  Data drop -out occurred due to problem with the T1 line between GSFC
and JPL.   IPNOCC and JPL Comm.  performed troubleshooting.  Problem took
90 minutes to resolve.  Station continued to receive and forward S/C data
during entire time.

Activities:
1. Successfully dumped data recorded on SSR B
2. Performed commanding to CRIS instrument to change diagnostic period to 4
hours
3. Successfully activated the S3DPU at 1508Z
4. Executed activation sequence of SEPICA instrument at approximately 1812Z.
 5.  SEPICA instrument team reports that instrument is nominal and
continued with instrument commanding activities that were originally
planned for for Day 5 since L&EO activities are running ahead of schedule.
6.  Verified contents of active C&DH (C&DH A) bin contents.

Anomalies:
1.  Telemetry drop-out from DSN due to configuration error in acquisition
equipment.  DSN modified parameters.  Drop-out lasted for 3 minutes
2.  Data drop -out due to Fan-Out problem.  IPNOCC fixed problem.  Drop-out
lasted for less than 3 minutes.  DSN continued to receive and forward data
throughout

Activities:
1. Successfully dumped data recorded on SSR A
2. Performed commanding to CRIS instrument
3. Successfully activated the ULEIS instrument.  ULEIS Power On occurred at
1625Z
4.  Successfully opened ULEIS instrument cover.  Instrument team reports
instrument is nominal.
5.  Activation of SWICS instrument.  Power On occurred at 1652Z.
6.  Executed sequence to open SWICS cover.
7.  There is no direct indication in telemetry that the cover has opened
and the change in attitude that the instrumenter expected to see did not
open.  However the SWICS instrument team believes that the cover opening
was successful.
8.   Activation of SWIMS instrument.  Power On occurred at 1802
9.  The first attempt to open the SWIM cover was not successful.  A wait
period was observed to let the battery recharge.  The second execution of
the sequence to blow the pyros successfully opened the SWIMS cover
10.  Verified the contents of the bins loaded on the Inactive  C&DH (C&DH B)
11. Performed commanding to SIS instrument
12.  Continued with L&EO activities for the SEPICA instrument.  These activities were
originally scheduled for Day 6

Pass Summary:
One additional science instrument was successfully powered on.  All but one
of the science instruments are now Powered ON and are performing well.
L&EO verification activities on the spacecraft as well as the instruments
are being executed ahead of schedule to the excellent performance obtained
with all activities executed.

Anomalies:
G-17  Received TPOCC event message "packet extractor out of telemetry
packet buffers" and MOC stopped processing data (1810z).  Failed over to
MAR and continued operations.  MOR was restarted (cold) succesfully and
operations returned to the MOR at 1830z.
G-18  Unable to perform a GRI set for block bin 115 in the MAR - message
received that this was not a valid bin number.

Activities:
1. Played back SSRB (570 slices) and replayed 75 slices
2. Sent CRIS commands at PI request (CR12)
3. Performed primary and redundant EPS checkout minor differences in
expected digital shunt voltages vs. actual will be discussed with APL.
Also, redundant processor is not set to trickle charge for battery (FOT
will send commands to change this)
4. Ran SEPICA 30kop (1549z)
5. Activated EPAM (1659z) and fired pyros
6. Performed detailed checkout of active C&DH SOH
     * Autonomy bin enable/disable status verified for all bins
     * Dumped all block, autonomy, and timetag bins and compared to GRI
     * Changed to all 6944 and 434 telemetry formats, verified telemetry
and sent no_op commands to verify reception
     * Set selectable telemetry byte to a number of known locations to
verify its operation
7. Performed overlay of all active C&DH block and autonomy bins from todays
dump files (2200z)
8. Performed detailed checkout of SSRB (2240z)  (7 minute BIT and cycle
through formats).  Everything checked out fine.  This activity was moved
forward from day 11.
9. Performed EEPROM dump and compare (0000z).  Miscompares will be reviewed
with APL.  This activity was moved forward from day 13.
10. Sent final CRIS command from CR13 (0005z)
11. Changed inactive C&DH selectable telemetry byte to look at
HOTFILLDRN_VLV_T which is only read by C&DHB.  Current temperature is
32.41C.  This information will be forwarded to the APL propulsion engineer.
