Pass Summary: Performed weekly SWEPAM calibration procedures.
Following the calibration OCR SWPX-007 was executed to modify the
normal operating cycle of SWEPAM-E. The execution of the OCR interruped
the calibration in progress on-board and the weekly calibration was
repeated.
The instrument team detected an anomaly with the instrument. The
OCR only patched one of the required memory locations. This caused the
instrument to branch to an unspecified data format.
The instrumenter requested an emergency in order to command
SWEPAM-E into a safe mode in order to prevent any damage to the instrument
if it was not shut down immediately.
Anomalies: The memory poke put SWEPAM-E in an unknown state (see
AR #S98-0022). SWEPAM-E engineers saw that it was not returning valid data
and declared an emergency. ACE FOT began steps to recycle the SWEPAM-E
DPU.
The processor was halted and will be repowered tomorrow, after
further analysis (OCR SWPX-008).

Emergency commanding to
SEPICA
Anomalies: Emergency commanding to SEPICA covered under OCR SEP-044
(see anomaly report
#S98-0023). The instrument team believes that the telemetry
indicates that Fan 2 may be broken. The commanding set the Fan 3 pressure
to zero so that the S3DPU will stop opening the remaining Fan 3 valve every
3 minutes.
This action puts Fan 3 in a safe condition until the intrument team
can thoroughly review the housekeeping data
