The pass was shortened due to an anticipated SOHO maneuver. This
pass was only 45 minutes in length.
Due to the shortened duration of the Pass, unable to complete the
Day's SSR Dump. This will be completed tomorrow (DOY 255) and ACE will
return to nominal SSR Activities by DOY 256.
The last command sent to the s/c was not verified. This command
should have set a stored command to switch the data rate to RTSW if the DSN
could not acquire on telemetry within one hour of BOT on the next pass.
This did not affect nominal operations.
The weekly SWEPAM calibrations were performed successfully.

Pass Summary:
Successfully completed attitude maneuver. There were many large
dropouts in the playback data today that resulted in the FOT having to play
back many more SSR slices than normal.
Each time, when asked about the dropouts, the station responded
that they were seeing fluctuations in the Signal-to-Noise-Ratio (SNR) on
Telemetry Group Controller (TGC) B.
TGC B strings have only recently been added to the list of
equipment that ACE can use after the ACE NOPE verified that the VME would
be used instead of the old MFR/DSA demodulators.
The NOPE and the station do not believe that the TGC B was the
cause of the fluctuations because the fluctuations were being seen at the
front end as well.
Anomalies:
* G98-0099 - DR#G04117 - Numerous data dropouts throughout
pass attributed to fluctuations seen in the SNR on TGC B. Redumped all
missing portions of Playback prior to the End of Track.

Autonomy Bin 30 Fired (SEPICA Shutdown). Also, the S3DPU reset and
SWICS and SWIMS were put in standby. This reset was different in that some
parameters remained at their expected values instead of getting set to zero.
The parameters SSDLUMASK and SSDLUSTROBE remained at H'1ff'. This
is significant because there was some discussion of using these parameters
as a way to characterize the S3DPU reset and eventually have an autonomy
bin act on these parameters.

Pass Summary:
Temporary problems arose in getting commands to the SEPICA
instrument. Commanding to the instrument resumed although additional pass
time was necessary in order to complete.
After one command, SEPICA stopped accepting commands. Sent 256
words of zeroes to S3DPU to reset the command interface but this did not
work. While discussing the alternative of switching microprocessor boards,
commands were again accepted.
The commands /SCPMPBTN and /SBDLUDON were accepted. The S3DPU
microprocessor board was not switched and SEPICA commanding resumed with
OCR SEP-034.
Anomalies:
Station switched exciters in order to get stable commanding at AOS.
This caused only a small delay. Covered by DR#G04139
While executing OCR SEP-034, SEPICA stopped accepting commands. See
Anomaly Rpt #S98-020.
