ACE Weekly Report: 11-01-00

All ACE spacecraft subsystems are performing nominally. An attitude maneuver
was successfully executed on 10-30-00. The next attitude maneuver is scheduled
for 11-03-00.

'The SEPICA 30kV supply was shut down by the S3DPU between Oct 25 and 26
(2000/299 and 300), because of a high current limit violationThis kind of
shutdown happens occasionally, but this one had an unusual side effect. When
the supply was restarted on Oct 26, it was again shut down, but this time at a
voltage of less than 3.4 kV. Two restart attempts were made [that day], but
neither succeeded. The lack of high voltage means that SEPICA cannot measure
charge states, but it will continue to measure particle fluxes.'
Since then the
Instrument team has decided to ramp up SEPICA at a slower rate and in smaller
increments; currently it is at ~1.81 kV. Further data analysis is still being
performed by the Instrument team [AR S00-005].

Maneuver Start Time=17:30:53	Maneuver End Time=17:38:09
Pre-Maneuver HGA = -3.6500 deg. Sun Angle = 6.3330 deg.
Post-Maneuver HGA = 4.4888 deg. Sun Angle = 8.4400 deg.
Current S/C range: 1,411,219.085 km

On 10-31-00 ACE suffered ~14 minutes of data loss due to problems
with the JPL SFG.
JPL reset their system and no further problems were experienced
during the pass. All
affected SSR data was redumped and successfully captured during the support.
