ACE Weekly 01/10/02 - 01/16/03

All ACE spacecraft subsystems are performing nominally. No attitude
maneuvers were performed this week. The next maneuver is scheduled for
01/24/03.

Ongoing Activities:

TAPS:
Trending, Analysis and Plotting System (TAPS) development continues.
VC2/VC4 processing problems may have been solved, FOT is monitoring. TAPS
Release 4.1 was installed on TAPS #2 on 1/15/03. Testing will continue on
TAPS#2 until such time the VC2/VC4 extraction problem is resolved on TAPS #1.

A meeting has been scheduled with the SGT development team to enhance their
understanding of DSN 5-16 Monitor Block processing on 1/23/03 at SGT.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Automation (ROBOTT):
Automation is now successfully printing plots automatically. String 2
testing of the offline subsystem and the first releases of the Health and
Safety Monitoring (HSM) and Command & Control subsystems are scheduled for
Jan 27th.

HGA Angle Constraint Report:

Will be released soon.

Anomalies:

DOY 03012 (1/12/2003) #G03-0004 GDS(DSS-27) Anomalous VC2 Data Received
At 11:59:26, while in support with DSS-66, TPOCC started generating VC2
sequence error messages, and the total VC2 packets received started
incrementing. The VC2 data did not stop flowing until 12:10:29. DSS-66
did not have telemetry online until 12:15:44. BOT for the pass was at
12:15:00. These messages occurred again from 12:44:24 to
12:46:59. Contacted DSS-66 and JPL Comm and they both reported seeing
nothing abnormal. The FOT performed a telemetry delog of the block files
and determined from the DDD Header that the data was coming from
DSS-27. The destination ID was 92 (ACE), and the source code was 0A8A
(DSS-27). The source code for DSS-66 is 3C6A. Contacted the JPL Ops Chief
about the erroneous data and he issued a DR. CAUSE: On DOY 03012, DSS-27
was being used for training of a DSN employee. The training crew failed to
disable the GCF (Ground Communications Facility) after locking onto the TSA
(Telemetry Simulation Assembly). This caused the simulation data to be
sent to the ACE MOC. IMPACT: The raw clock calibration file was corrupted
due to erroneous data on DOY 03012. No clock calibration file for DOY
03012 and 03013 was generated for the ACE Science Center (ASC) for those
two days.
