ACE Weekly 06/18/04 - 06/24/04

All ACE spacecraft subsystems are performing nominally. No maneuvers were
executed this reporting period. The next attitude maneuver is scheduled
for 06/25/04.

============================================================================
Orbit Events:

The next ACE SEV transit will occur in the mid-Aug to early Sep '04
timeframe.

Ongoing Activities:

TAPS:
- Transition from GTAS to TAPS occurred on 03/18/04. All trending
activities are being accomplished using TAPS.
- Installation of TAPS release 4.3 is tentatively scheduled for the first
week of July 2004. All open DRs will be fixed in this release.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Automation (ROBOTT):

- Release 0.7 has been delivered to String 3 and undergoing test at this time.
-- There are 4 major issues to be resolved:
          1) Inability to turn off alarm tones
          2) C&C continues tasks if commands aren't verified
          3) C&C notifications are not being created and paged
          4) Pass Summaries not being saved
-- Currently there are 11 of 23 DRs verified
- SUG development is ongoing. A DRAFT version has been delivered and
comments have been provided to the developer.
- FOT training on ROBOTT began 05/05/04 and additional sessions are being
developed.

Anomalies:

DOY 04170 (6/18/2004) ACE Anomaly G04-0053 - GDS 26m (DSS-16) RCVR B Lost Lock
DSS-16's antenna went off-point which resulted in loss of lock on the
spacecraft receiver B. A resweep was requested by the FOT and lock was
reacquired on both receivers. IMPACT: Loss of command capability for
approximately 5 minutes. DR# G104512

DOY 04172 (6/20/2004) ACE Anomaly G04-0054 - Messages in FORMATS Transmit Queue
When the script fmtcheck was run the FOT noticed several files were waiting
to be transmitted in the Transmit directory. FORMATS displayed numerous
error messages that stated, "FTP: Service not available, remote server has
closed connection." IMPACT: None. APL remote server eventually brought
back online and products were sent.

DOY 04173 (6/21/2004) ACE Anomaly G04-0055 - GDS 34m (DSS-27) Station RED
DSS-27 unable to move antenna to point. Acquired time on DSS-54 from
1330Z-1525Z.
DOY 174 pass with DSS-27 extended 1 hour (EOT now 1755). IMPACT: Unable
to get complete recorder dump. Data subsequently retrieved on next day's
pass. DR# G104526

DOY 04174 (6/22/2004) ACE Anomaly G04-0056 - GDS 34m (DSS-27) Receiver &
Ranging Processor Reboot
At 13:46:16 telemetry stopped and DSS-27 reported having problems with the
timing of RRP. A reboot of the RRP was required and at 14:04:16 telemetry
was reacquired. IMPACT: Unable to complete dump of recorder. DR# G104531

DOY 04174 (6/22/2004) ACE Anomaly G04-0057 - GDS 34m (DSS-27) Goldstone
Power Outage
At 14:44:56 telemetry stopped and DSS-27 reported that all Goldstone
stations were down due to a power supply failure (Coherent Reference
Generator). At 16:43:14 telemetry came back online. Pass was extended 2
hours 15 minutes to try and complete SSR dump. IMPACT: SSR had to be
redumped and last 20 slices were not able to be retrieved during
pass. Data subsequently retrieved on the next day's pass. DR# G104532

DOY 04176 (6/24/2004) ACE Anomaly G04-0058 - GDS 26m (DSS-16) Antenna
Y-Axis Stopped Tracking
Antenna Y-Axis stopped tracking without warning. Antenna interface unit had
a Y-Axis brake pressure light illuminate when the axis stopped. This
occurred twice. First occurrence was 1243Z and second time was 1313Z. The
first time antenna was in auto track mode and the second in program
mode. IMPACT: Delayed pass activities. Lost telemetry subsequently
retrieved from next day's recorder dump. DR# G104539
