ACE Weekly 10/28/05 - 11/03/05 All ACE spacecraft subsystems are performing nominally. Thursday (11/10/05) will be the 3000th day of the ACE mission. ======================================================================= ===== Orbit/Attitude: No attitude maneuvers were completed this week. The next attitude maneuver is scheduled for Thursday 11/10/05. ======================================================================= ===== OCRs: DOY 301 (10/28/05) 2029-2035z SWPX-032 Made adjustments to the instruments Normal Cycle duration to help extend the instrument's operational life. The number of STEA modes per cycle was increased from 13 to 55. DOY 306 (11/02/05) 1619-1630z and 1734-1746z SIS-032 Leakage currents on HV side of Matrix detector M1B have been steadily rising, resulting in more and more detector strips having to be manually turned off. By raising the M12B bias voltage from 2.8 to 3.3V we will explore the effects of slightly higher bias voltage on the leakage current and the counting rates of this detector. After ~1 hour, the instrument team decided to restore the bias voltage back to 2.8V. ======================================================================= ===== Ongoing Activities: Space Link Extension (SLE) - ACE SLE development has been delayed due to developer resource issues. The next DTF-21/Developer test is targeted for November and will verify TDF firewall configuration. However, additional tests will most likely be postponed until early December. RIONet - String 3 is anticipated to move to the RIONet within a month. ======================================================================= ===== Extra Activities: The SSRs failed over early Tuesday morning (DOY 305) because there was no pass on Monday (DOY 304). The impact of the failover is 31 seconds of data loss during the transition of the SSRs. Because there was no pass on Monday, no clock calibration report was generated for 2 days (Monday and Tuesday), no attitude orbit report was created on Monday, and the weekly SWEPAM calibration was performed on Tuesday instead of Monday. DOY 304 (10/31/05) The quarterly security scans were performed on all three TPOCC strings. No problems were encountered. DOY 305 (11/01/05) The FOT ran the procedure C_TELLTALE_CLEAR to clean up from the SSR failover. ======================================================================= ===== Anomalies: DOY 306 (11/02/05) S05-0049 SWICS Limit Violations SSCPAM5V had 2 brief red high limit violations (RH >-4.5V). 2005-306 17:29:55 - 17:30:19 -4.451V 2005-306 17:54:08 - 17:54:32 -4.451V SSCGR20V had 1 brief yellow low limit violation (YL <= 17.0). 2005-306 17:53:44 - 17:54:08 17.0V Jim Raines notified. IMPACT: Awaiting instructions from Jim Raines. DOY 306 (11/02/05) S05-0050 Incorrect SIS CMD ECHO While executing OCR SIS-032 the 2nd time to restore the bias voltage to 2.8V, the SIS CMD Echo did not match command sent: 17:36:30 sent - /cmd sis_vstring statement=6~SDACVAL~13~+~C!~REFON 17:37:12 SIS CMD Echo was: 6 SDACVAL 13 C! REFON Instrumenter requested the command be retransmitted. The second transmission echoed the expected results. A similar problem occurred on DOY 286 in AR#S05-0047. IMPACT: No impact mentioned by instrumenter. DOY 306 (11/02/05) G05-0137 DSS-27 Lost Interface to the LMP At 14:30, the FOT was informed that D27 loss their interface with the LMP. DSS-27 was not able to provide support for the ACE pass (BOT 15:25 / EOT 18:55), but DSS-24 was able to provide coverage. The FOT changed the station ID in Command&Control (STA ALL D24). The pass times (BOT / EOT) remained the same. DR# G106217 IMPACT: DSS-24 encountered a elevation angle limit which delayed commanding for 17 minutes. -------------------------------------------------- Gretchen England ACE Flight Operations Observatory Engineer Honeywell Technology Solutions Incorporated (HTSI) Goddard Space Flight Center Bldg. 14 Rm W10E, Code 428.2 Greenbelt, MD 20771 Phone: (301) 286-1011 Fax: (301) 286-1729 Pager: 877 5702239 (skytel.com) E-mail: gretchen.england@honeywell-tsi.com ------=_NextPart_000_000D_01C5E126.01052B50 Content-Type: text/html; charset="us-ascii" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable ACE Weekly 10/28/05 - 11/03/05 (Corrected)
