ACE Weekly 12/30/05 - 01/05/06

All ACE spacecraft subsystems are performing nominally.

============================================================================
Orbit/Attitude:

No attitude maneuvers were completed this week. The next attitude maneuver
is scheduled for Monday 01/09/05.

============================================================================
OCRs:

None

============================================================================
Ongoing Activities:

Space Link Extension (SLE) - The first version of ACE SLE was delivered to
the Library on December 14. The delivery to the ACE MOC will not be until
late January/early February.

RIONet - String 3 is anticipated to move to the RIONet in January. The
firewalls in the TDF have been scanned, but there were security issues found
during the scan. The RIONet firewall tests with DTF-21 have been postponed
until the security issues are resolved.

Attitude Training - FOT has begun training on attitude determination,
manuever planning, and maneuver execution.

============================================================================
Anomalies:

DOY 364 (12/30/05) G05-0159 Incorrect Command Mod Index
DSS-16 had the command mod index incorrectly set at 8.80 dB vice 1.69 dB.
DR G106384.
IMPACT: Degraded data while sending commands due to weakened signal strength
caused by incorrect mod index. Ref AR G05-0160.

DOY 365 (12/31/05)  G05-0160  Incomplete Dumplist
Due to AR G05-0159, there was a data gap as SSR B transitioned from record
to playback. The automated SSR redump software incorrectly accounted for
the data gap and did not playback the missing data.
IMPACT: 5 seconds of plbk data was lost: 15:47:16-15:47:17 &
15:50:56-15:50:58

DOY 365 (12/31/05) G05-0161 ROBOTT Did Not Perform Postpass Activities
ROBOTT does not run the postpass activities on the last day of the year.
This happened last year as well and DR CDSID 21127 was open in January 2005.

IMPACT: Software was not terminated after the pass. Archival of pass files
did not occur until the following day.

DOY 365 (12/31/05)  G05-0162  VCO's Off by -15kHz
The uplink frequency from DSS-24 was off by -15 kHz from the best lock
frequency.  DR N103318.
IMPACT: All commands made it to the spacecraft.

DOY 001 (01/01/06)  G06-0001  VCO's Off Best Lock
The uplink frequency from DSS-34 was off from the best lock frequency due to
a leap second problem at DSN. DR C104668.
IMPACT: Doppler data for the unattended pass may not be good.

DOY 001 (01/01/06)  G06-0002  ROBOTT/C&C Alive.log File Not Updating
With 25 minutes left in the pass, the Command and Control alive.log file
stopped updating for unknown reasons. This caused a reboot of C&C.
IMPACT: C&C needed to be restarted for unknown reasons. By the time C&C was
restarted, there was not enough time to run end of day activities.

DOY 001 (01/01/06) G06-0003 C&C Did Not Acquire Privileges after
Restarting
TPOCC command privileges were not acquired by C&C after the restart (Ref AR
G06-0002).
IMPACT: TSTOL procedures could not complete properly due to lack of
privileges.

DOY 004 (01/04/06)  G06-0004  Automation Cron Killed
The FOT closed the cron status window using upper left corner box which
killed the automation cron before the prepass activities occurred.
IMPACT: Prepass activities had to be performed manually. FOT decided to
initialize the pass software manually as well, eventhough the Real-time
Monitor would have initialized the software before the pass. Cron needed to
be restarted.

DOY 005 (01/05/06)  G06-0005  DSS-16 Transmitter Problem
D16 transmitter was limited to 150W (nominal is 2000W). DR G106421.
IMPACT: Weak uplink. All commands made it to the spacecraft.
