ACE Weekly 01/06/06 - 01/12/06

All ACE spacecraft subsystems are performing nominally.

OCRs:

DOY 011 (01/11/06) 2024-2031z SIS-036
A couple of matrix detector strips were disabled recently (M1B HV strips #
26 & 35) but their firmware thresholds were not raised due to a limited
number of available slots. This change will rearrange strips with raised
firmware thresholds in order to optimize the performance of the instrument.

Ongoing Activities:

Space Link Extension (SLE) - The first version of ACE SLE was delivered to
the Library on December 14. The delivery to the ACE MOC will not be until
late January/early February.

RIONet - String 3 is anticipated to move to the RIONet in January. The
firewalls in the TDF have been scanned, but there were security issues found
during the scan. The RIONet firewall tests with DTF-21 have been postponed
until the security issues are resolved.

Attitude Training - The FOT continues training on attitude determination,
maneuver planning, and maneuver execution.

============================================================================
Extra Activities:

DOY 011 (01/11/06) - TELLTALE_CLEAR performed to clear autonomy bin fire
flags after SSR failover.

============================================================================
Anomalies:

DOY 006 (01/06/06) G06-0006 DSS-54 Transmitter problems
Ground station unable to provide uplink due to low body flow. Station
successfully resolved problem at 1317z. DR#M103544.
IMPACT: Activities delayed 77 minutes. SSR playback unable to complete.
Remaining playback data captured on following day.

DOY 008 (01/08/06) G06-0007 DSS-16 Low XMTR Power + Incorrect CMD Mod Indx
The uplink signal strength was poor (-25dB). The transmitter power was only
150Watts (-12dB) and the CMD Mod Index was too large (an additional -13dB).
DR#N103341
IMPACT: All commands were successful, but the weak uplink generated several
alarms.

DOY 009 (01/09/06) G06-0008 DSS-27 Network data loss
Network problems resulted in 30% data loss. Intermittent throughout the
support and continuous from 1642-1726z. JPLComm successfully resolved
problem at 1726z by removing problem lines. DR#N103338
IMPACT: All data available on CDR.

DOY 009 (01/09/06) G06-0009 ROBOTT/C&C 2 procedures started
ROBOTT started 2 procedures at the same time; C_SCIENCE/17:23:20 and
S_OPS_PLBK_COMPLETE/17:23:23. C&C then froze and was restarted by RTMON.
The initial instance of C&C was not properly terminated. The second
instance of C&C determined that a string reboot was necessary since event
server was responding slowly. String reboot completed at 25 minutes before
End of Track. CDSID#21085
IMPACT: SWEPAM calibration not performed (later performed on DOY 011).
Final state of health checks not performed. SSR redumps not completed (data
available on CDR).

DOY 009 (01/09/06) G06-0010 STOL syntax error
WHILE block in S_AUTO_REDUMP was not executed due to lack of available time.
TPOCC continued syntax checking as it searched for the end of the block
(ENDDO). STOL directives formed by variable substitution generated syntax
errors. ROBOTT continued the procedure after the syntax error and
S_AUTO_REDUMP entered a continuous loop. MOCR#1230
IMPACT: Continuous executed until End of Track.

DOY 010 (01/10/06) G06-0011 DSS-16 Red - No Pass, Microwave feed
The pass with DSS-16 was lost due to a problem with the ground antenna
microwave feed. Unable to schedule another support due to insufficient
antenna time available (available time < 1hr). DR#G106422
IMPACT: No attitude determination for DOY 010. No clock calibration for
DOY 009 & 010. SSR Failover on spacecraft (31 second gap in recording).

DOY 011 (01/11/06) G06-0012 DSS-16 Red - No Pass, Transmitter
DSS-16 was unable to provide uplink to the spacecraft. After 25 minutes of
troubleshooting, FOT requested and obtained with a support with DSS-27. A
second support with DSS-27 was scheduled and taken manually to recover SSR
data after the failover. DR#G106428
IMPACT: Activities delayed 40 minutes.

DOY 012 (01/12/06) G06-0013 ROBOTT/C&C Froze
ROBOTT froze after procedure S_OPS_PLBK_COMPLETE completed (EOT-5minutes).
RTMON restart not performed since 5 minutes before End of Track.
CDSID#00021192
IMPACT: Procedure G_ACEDOWN not executed, status reports not completed
before TPOCC terminated.
