ACE Weekly 03/26/2008 - 04/01/2008 All ACE spacecraft subsystems are performing nominally. ============================================================================ Orbit/Attitude: No maneuvers were completed this week. The next attitude maneuver is scheduled for Wednesday 04/16/2008. =========================================================================== OCRs: None ============================================================================ Activities: None ============================================================================ Anomalies: DOY 093 04/02/2008 S-ACE-0296 G08-0036 TPOCC/OS Bitbucket Error The HPUX operating system occasionally returns a bitbucket error when the TPOCC ground software executes a unix program. The ROBOTT automation software is designed to continue through the error. Usually this is not a problem, but on this occasion the procedure continued before the first spacecraft command was verified. The procedure attempted to build the next 2 commands, TPOCC generated more errors and ROBOTT continued through the errors. Manual intervention (with proper approval) was required to jump back in the procedure and rebuild the 2 commands that were skipped. IMPACT: Manual intervention required to rebuild commands. The procedure would have remained paused until the proper commands had been sent. DOY 093 04/02/2008 S-ACE-0297 G08-0037 DSS-66 TCP problems Problems with the ground station TCP1 (Telemetry & Command Processor) 10MHz reference signal prevented commands from being transmitted to the spacecraft. Station failed over to TCP2. DR#M104747 IMPACT: Activities delayed 18 minutes. DOY 093 04/02/2008 S-ACE-0298 G08-0038 ROBOTT/C&C Failed to Resume The automation ground software (ROBOTT/C&C) failed to resume after the station TCP problems. No notifications were sent. This last occurred 06/11/2007 (DOY 162 AR#G07-0051). FOT noticed the problem and manually resumed ROBOTT. CDSID#21191 IMPACT: If ROBOTT had not been resumed, no further commanding would have been performed. The SSR playback would have completed, but redumps would have been performed on the following pass. The ground procedures have been written to reduce the impact if the automation software is unable to complete the support. DOY 093 04/02/2008 S-ACE-0299 G08-0039 Excessive Network Loss Network data loss was 1% for most of the pass with DSS-66 (1440-1625z). Both JPL Comm and Goddard Comm Control were contacted, but neither group was able to find any problems. IMPACT: All data available on CDR. CDR verified before the beginning of the next pass. DOY 098 04/07/2008 S-ACE-0300 G08-0040 Excessive Network Loss Network data loss was 1% during the pass with DSS-24 (1516-1521z and 1612-1649z). Both JPL Comm and Goddard Comm Control were contacted, but neither group was able to find any problems. DR#G108502 IMPACT: All data available on CDR. CDR verified before the beginning of the next pass.
