ACE Weekly 02/24/2010 - 03/02/2010 All ACE spacecraft subsystems are performing nominally. ======================================================================== Orbit/Attitude: No maneuvers were completed this week. The next attitude maneuver is scheduled for Wednesday 03/10/2010. ======================================================================= OCRs: DOY 057 (02/26/2010) MMOC-0079 Install ACE MTASS Release 201002R1 MTASS will eventually replace the old ACE MOC Attitude Determination System (ADS). MTASS was installed in the MMOC, but is still undergoing testing. The old ACE MOC ADS is still being used for generating the attitude/orbit reports to ASC and NOAA. ======================================================================== Activities: Data Capture: 100% DOY 052-059 2010 Multi-Mission Operations Center (MMOC) Summary The first week of ACE operational testing has been completed (DOY 054-061 Feb 23-Mar2). * ITOS has been running automated for the past week. The daily pass procedures have been started by cron based on the DSN Schedule. No manual intervention during the pass except as noted in the anomaly reports. * Data forwarding to ACE Science Center (ASC) and NOAA Space Weather Prediction Center have been from the MMOC. The MMOC has been connecting to the ASC operational port instead of the test port. * Offline activities have been performed and reviewed manually (trending, report generation and data archiving). * ACE Clock Reports sent to ASC and NOAA have been generated with the MMOC tools. * ACE Attitude/Orbit Reports sent to ASC and NOAA have been generated with the old ACE MOC software. MTASS software acceptance testing continues. * DSN declared their SLE interface operational after the first 3 passes were successful. * ITOS was restarted after 1 week of running. ======================================================================== Anomalies: DOY 059 02/28/2010 S-ACE-0486 G10-0009 Dumplist Parsed Incorrectly ACE uses a tool "ace_create_s_dumplist" for reading telemetry files and determining which SSR slices to redump (created in 2003). The tool creates a string giving the start_slice, num_slice and num_frames, which is parsed by the STOL procedure "s_auto_redump.proc". In the conversion to ITOS, the dumplist string was set to 18 characters and s_auto_redump.proc was looking for 16 characters. DOY 059 was the first pass to have more than 1 redump. IMPACT: The redump parameters were manually entered into ITOS and the s_auto_redump procedure was continued. MOCR-90 has fixed s_auto_redump. DOY 060 03/01/2010 S-ACE-0487 G10-0010 NOAA Data Forward Disconnect NOAA Space Weather Prediction Center implemented a new firewall. The firewall had rules allowing data from the old ACE MOC configuration, but no rules for the new MMOC. NOAA was notified when the MMOC was no longer able to connect. NOAA updated their new firewall rules. IMPACT: Manual intervention required. 20 minutes of no data forwarding to NOAA. DOY 060 03/01/2010 S-ACE-0488 G10-0011 DSS-27 Stopped Tracking The ground antenna stopped tracking at 2012z. The antenna was back tracking at 2024z and uplink at 2025z. DR#G110087 IMPACT: Minimal. 12 minutes of tracking. Playback data captured on the following pass. DOY 060 03/01/2010 S-ACE-0489 G10-0012 SLE CMDs Not Transmitted D27 After uplink was established, DSS-27 was unable to process the SLE commands sent from the MMOC. The MMOC disconnected and reconnected the SLE CMD FCLTU. The commands were then successfully sent by DSS-27. IMPACT: Manual intervention required. Commanding delayed 6 minutes. DOY 061 03/02/2010 S-ACE-0450 G10-0013 ASC Data Forward Disconnect For unknown reasons, the data forwarding to ASC disconnected twice during the pass (1705z and 1820z). IMPACT: Manual intervention to reconnect data forwarding to ASC.
