Activities:

Data Capture: 100% DOY 219-226 2011

The GRAIL mission is expected to launch 09/08/2011. ACE has reduced DSN
antenna time during September. The current schedule has ACE losing ~15%
data over 3 weeks in September. The data loss will be greater if there
are problems with any of the passes.

SOLAR EXCLUSION ZONE (SEZ): On Wednesday (8/17/2011), ACE will get to
0.78 degrees from the center of the sun (as seen from Earth) and will
get closer in the upcoming transits. DSN is not expected to have any
problems receiving high-rate data (87648bps) when the Sun-Earth-Vehicle
(SEV) angle is greater than 0.5 degrees. The SSR recorders are large
enough (2x43 hours) to record all science data while the SEV angle is
less than 0.5 degrees.

	08/17/2011	0.78 degrees
	11/14/2011	0.41 degrees
	02/08/2012	0.18 degrees
	05/06/2012	0.71 degrees
	08/05/2012	1.23 degrees

NOAA Space Weather Prediction Center (SWPC) server is again having
problems processing the high-rate real-time data (1 frame per second)
from the MMOC on Sunday 08/14/2011 and Monday 08/15/2011. This last
occurred on 07/26/2011 and 07/27/2011.

Anomalies:

DOY 222 08/10/2011 S-ACE-0623 G11-0050 MUS CMD process terminated
The MMOC SLE (MUS) cmd process (ace-d27-cmd) terminated unexpectedly 2
minutes after beginning of track. The MUS CMD process was restarted and
the process died a second time. MUS CMD was restarted and no further
problems occurred. This last occurred for ACE on 03/22/2010
(AR#G11-0023)
IMPACT: Manual intervention required.

DOY 223 03/11/2011 S-ACE-0624 G11-0051 MUS CMD unable to BIND
The MMOC SLE (MUS) cmd process (ace-d27-cmd) generated the error "Cannot
send a BIND because of the following Anite error condition:
ace-d27-cmd's F-CLTU provider object could not thread off an Operations
server because". This error has not occurred before. MUS CMD was
restarted and no further problems occurred.
IMPACT: Manual intervention required.

DOY 225 03/13/2011 S-ACE-0624 G11-0051 MUS CMD unable to BIND
The same problem as DOY 223 occurred. The MMOC SLE (MUS) cmd process
(ace-d27-cmd) generated the error "Cannot send a BIND because of the
following Anite error condition: ace-d27-cmd's F-CLTU provider object
could not thread off an Operations server because". This error has not
occurred before. MUS CMD was restarted and no further problems
occurred. (DR# 111882)
IMPACT: Manual intervention required. Activities delayed 20 minutes.

There were no MUS CMD problems on Sunday DOY 226 or Monday DOY 227.
