MOCRs:

ACE-355: Relaxing the ACE antenna constraint from 9 to 11 degrees for
the 2015 Summer Campaign.

Reason for Request: As approved by the ACE Science Working Team (meeting
held on May 7-8, 2015) the planned May-19 2015 attitude maneuver will relax
the ACE spacecraft high gain antenna (HGA) angle from 9 to 11 degrees.
The HGA constraint change will effectively allow slightly higher sun angles=
,
which in turn will improve the SWEPAM-I density measurement (approximately
5% improvement for each angle increase is expected).

Anomalies:

DOY 133 05/13/2015 S-ACE-0702: NASCOM Network Problem with Controlled TDF S=
witch

Description:
During the DSS-15 (May 13, 2015) ACE contact (BOT=3D17:20(UT) and EOT:
20:40 (UT)), NASCOM experienced problems with the controlled TDF Switch.
NASCOM transferred the M-MOC to the backup switch and took control of the
prime NASCOM switch, which the NASCOM Team was going to replace.

Following investigation, NASCOM determined that there was nothing
physically wrong with the prime switch, and the NASCOM Team concluded
that the reset switch had been manually triggered - the switch, if
depressed for 8 seconds, clears the configuration. The NASCOM team
believes that the reset switch was inadvertently triggered perhaps by
the portable hub that is located in the rack.

For the future, the NASCOM Team disabled the feature allowing a reset
after 8 seconds. The M-MOC System Administrators also relocated the
portable hub to a different portion of the rack.

Impact:
No ACE data loss. However, during the event, the ACE FOT was not able
to login into any of the M-MOC workstations. To workaround the issues
accessing the LDAP (password) server, the M-MOC System Administrator
provided direct M-MOC access to the operational workstations. Once the
FOT gained access to the operational system, it was confirmed that the
ACE pass procedure was still properly executing.

Although, there were no direct indications that the M-MOC/ITOS was not
receiving ACE spacecraft telemetry, the FOT independently verified (via
inspection of the NOAA SWPC website) that the NOAA center was indeed
receiving TLM (the latter data being routed via the M-MOC).

DOY 135 05/15/2015 S-ACE-0703: DSS-54 RED due to Transmitter Problem (DR#M1=
08758)

Description:
The DSN Ops Chief informed the FOT that DSN-54 station was experiencing
problems communicating with the TXR hardware (DR # M108758). The
Transmitter Controller Assembly was declared RED, but a TLM bit rate of
498 was achieved for the whole support. Effectively, the M-MOC was able
to receive low rate ACE telemetry, but had no commanding capabilities
during the DSS-54 contact.

Impact:
Six second data loss on DOY 135. The DSN personnel performed a TXC reboot
under maintenance instructions and communications were regained.

With the aim of mitigating potential SSR management issues downstream,
the FOT worked with the schedulers and converted some of the subsequent
ranging passes over the weekend to tracking (with the re-planned working as
intended).
