( possibly a PENA, but there is a hit in L2B ) 9 PENB? ( possibly a PENB, but there is a hit in L2A ) 10 2TEL ( valid coincidence on both sides ) 11 ERRTAG ( forbidden tags ) Coincidence rates are incremented by the software immediately after sorting each event into its class, using the tag and the TAGTABLE lookup table (see below). --------------------- Priority-buffer Rates --------------------- 29 counters, contained in the BUFRATES buffer.. These counters count attempts to assign events to the various priority buffers. The number and definition of the priority buffers is based on Dick Mewaldt's LET Priority System memo of 01-09-2004. Provided here is an expanded description of the kinds of events that go into each buffer. Example: For Range 2 carbon events, Dick Mewaldt has defined 7 energy ranges. These map to counters 28-34. Counter 27 counts events that are identified as carbon by the matrix sort, but have E/M below 2.2 MeV/nuc. Counter 35 counts events that are identified as carbon by the matrix sort, but have E/M above 10.0 MeV/nuc. Species numbers corresponding to Na, Al, and Ni should never emerge from matrix sort for Range 2 events. If this happens, counter 131 is incremented. The species/energy-range combinations that are used to compute sectored rates are defined in the following two tables. The tables are derived from Dick Mewaldt's Sectored Rates memo of 09-29-2003.
