ACR Intensities in Interplanetary Space
Posted August 31, 2007
From: Berndt Klecker, MPE
These interplanetary particle intensities and plots are from the HILT instrument on SAMPEX. HILT was launched with a ~1000 day supply of isobutane for the proportional counter. Thus, these data cover from 20 August 1992 through 7 July 1995.
- Polar Cap Averages
Polar cap intensities of He, O, N, and Ne in several energy ranges between 4 and 28 MeV/nuc, averaged over 1 day with the provision that the spacecraft is at magnetic latitudes of 70 degrees or higher. These data are NOT selected for quiet times. The energy ranges are provided in the following table:Element Energy Range (MeV/nuc) Helium 4-6, 6-8 Oxygen 8.2-16, 16-28 Nitrogen 7.6-16 Neon 9.2-28
